New Energy Work Site!

Posted by ally in Untagged

Hey everyone! Just a short entry today, because I'm dreaming up some new online products and teleseminar classes for launch this summer. Can't wait.

My new energy work site has launched, for people looking to shift into a new reality without the astrology or tarot stuff. It's called http://www.shiftenergetics.com, and I'm offering introductory sessions at 33% off for a limited time.

If you're new to energy work or Matrix Energetics, it's a modality that is very effective in person or at a distance (since energy is everywhere and anywhere at once). I've seen people have incredible results after just one session and to answer a common question, it doesn't hurt. :)

It can be used for almost anything, but many of my existing clients use it for moving past obstacles, discovering and achieving their  life purpose and manifesting desired results. Be it a relationship, bettered finances or a move to a new place, Matrix can help you create the synchronous moments leading to a brand new reality.

Have a great day, as the Capricorn Moon gives way to Aquarius!

Mars Square Mercury -- Danger Ahead!

Posted by ally in Untagged

Mars in Leo will square Mercury in Taurus starting in a few hours from now, and continue into late Monday. But danger lies ahead! If you're not careful, particularly on the road, in cars, trains or planes, you could find that you're more accident prone than normal.

Mars in Leo is pushing all of us forward. It wants us to look at our ego needs (Leo) and try to be a little more assertive in meeting them. In practical terms, this can mean that you think you have more time to get through a yellow light than you do, or that someone else should (and will) let you into traffic when they may have no such intention. What's clear is that the fiery nature of Leo needs to burn, finding fuel for its fire along the way. Watch yourself in conversation, at work and in relationships, You could find yourself needing more, and not being satisfied by settling for less.

Mercury, planet of communication, speech and thought patterns, is moving through Taurus, an Earth Sign. Taurus is known for its tenacity and stubbornness, as well as its need to enjoy sensual pleasures. You may find that you're frustrated in this aim  now, which could make you less patient than you are usually. Again, traffic could become the place where this plays out. You may feel that you should go first, or that your needs should be met before those of your partner. Rather than raising your blood pressure, take a few deep breaths.

Stepping on other people's toes is very possible now. Of course, that doesn't mean that you have to step aside, become a doormat or not stand up for yourself. But it's not the best time for confrontation. Gather information. Make your case, carefully and respectfully. By late Tuesday or early Wednesday, you're in a much stronger position to get those needs met.

On Courage and Cowardice

Posted by ally in Untagged

I know someone with cancer. Scratch that, used to have cancer. As in beat its butt to the ground, took no prisoners and opened a can of whoop ass on it. She is a daily inspiration to me, because most people (myself included) would probably be terrified of a diagnosis like the one she received last fall. As a society, we have been trained to associate cancer with certain death. Instead, she took it on as a project, strengthening herself with great organic food and exercise, and interviewing doctors as she would a prospective nanny for her kids. For six months, she moved through this very difficult situation mostly with grace, occasionally fear or trepidation, and always with love.

If that doesn't get you thinking about courage, I don't know what would.

On the other hand, I have a person in my life who is demonstrating the very opposite tendencies.  It may become a legal matter so I can't talk about too much of it, but suffice it to say that services were delivered and payment was not forthcoming. Much disrespect has been tossed around. I have remained neutral, professional and respectful. I've been doing this for over twenty years now, and nothing like this has never happened to me. I have been overpaid and had to refund money to my clients. I have also canceled readings when someone was booking too many, again with a refund. I have done free or reduced price readings for people with severe issues who may not have otherwise had access to assistance.

The point is this: Who would you rather be, the person demonstrating courage or the person demonstrating cowardice? Each of us has to take responsibility for relationships we form, promises we make and fulfilling our duties on the planet.

It would certainly look more like the kind of world I want to live in.

On Misperceptions

Posted by ally in Untagged

Maybe I'm being sassier than usual today, but because of some recent readings, I feel a need to respond. A bit of theme has emerged. That tends to happen for all readers and healers, but for the past few weeks, I've been attracting people who want to break out of certain patterns or situations, but don't feel they can, or deserve to, or know how to achieve the things they want. They come to me seeking answers (I appreciate the vote of confidence -- thanks!)  and I'm happy to oblige. And since I use Matrix Energetics in my readings, I can not only tell them what's likely to happen, but help them shift out of whatever's holding them back.

So let's get this straight. Anyone can break out of any pattern, at any time. I know, I know. I can hear you saying, "What if I have a terminal disease?" "What if I'm in an abusive relationship?" or "What if I'm completely bankrupt?" Honestly, the same holds true.

People with terminal diseases may have attracted this reality not because they're bad, or deserve to suffer. They may need to open the hearts of those around them, selflessly sacrificing their health and comfort for this purpose. They may be about to make a miraculous recovery and have an opportunity to live their lives in a brand new way. Similarly, people attracting abusive relationships and financial problems may need to learn about these experiences. Notice I didn't say suffer through them for all eternity. That's because it's not true.

Even people in jail can turn their lives around. Jarvis Masters, author of several books on meditation, literally became a new person in prison, and will never be the same regardless of where he happens to be living (he may never be released).

Though I love helping people move through their problems and into a new reality, what I do isn't magic. I help people see and shift their energetic patterns so they can get what they want. You are the person doing the work, seeing the patterns and deciding whether or not to go down the same road. You are the one in charge.

Teamwork and the Test of Time

Posted by ally in Untagged

I've found, through years of reading people, that folks interested in metaphysics -- from astrology, tarot and energy work -- are really interested in two things: teamwork and time. I realized this during a recent afternoon spent watching NCAA basketball (I'm a huge fan of the NBA, WNBA and college basketball). Of course, teamwork is important in most sports. If you don't pass the ball once in awhile, others will likely close ranks against you and as a unit, you'll play a lot less well.

The same holds true for metaphysics. While some think that things happen to us, or that we're at the mercy of planets, our past or the energies of the tarot cards we draw, nothing could be further from the truth. We're always in a give and take relationship with the energies around us, acting on them and being acted on in turn. We always have the chance to take the high road, and act out of those energetic patterns, or the low road, with its corresponding results.

Time also comes into the equation because let's face it, when people want a psychic reading, they want to know when things are going to happen. Sometimes, this is easily pinpointed, due to astrological issues such as aspects or transits, and other times it's really up to the person asking the question. When are you ready to make this change, the cards seem to ask? How far would you go to get what you're looking for?

The best part about my readings is that I can not only tell people what they're facing, energywise, but help them transform it, or shift it into something more useful. Matrix Energetics can help move pain out of your body and negative patterns out of your life, and start to bring in more positive results across the board. Through years of practice, I've honed this method, and believe it offers the best bang for the buck.

I'm getting ready to offer a significant discount on money readings until April 15th - Tax Day! Check it out soon to get your discount when you check out.

Expect Some Confrontation, Though

Posted by ally in Untagged

So many times, I read people who think of astrology as either a huge predestined punishment or bum-out, or as an elaborate series of rewards for good deeds done in past lives. Both of these may be true, or neither. The main thing to understand about astrology is that it's indicative of energies in your chart (or those moving though the sky) and as such, they're fluid and able to be manifest in a variety of different ways.

So with the upside of the Aries energy all around us now, in the form of energy, inspiration and renewal, there is also the downside. Ruled by warlike Mars, Aries can be the sign of conflict, or at the very least confrontation. This is especially true as the Aries Sun forms a square with Pluto in Capricorn tomorrow. The Sun moves very quickly, so the aspect will only be exact for a few hours of Friday, but the message is unmistakable. The Sun rules ego issues and Pluto rules power, deep personal transformation and domination.

If you need to stand up for yourself, now is the time. But rather than digging in your heels and positioning yourself in opposition to someone or something, sticking to your guns and presenting the facts in a sane, neutral way benefits you and helps to achieve the result you're seeking. The more someone tries to wiggle out of their responsibilities, the more they will fail. if that sounds like you, this aspect amy help you take more responsibility, at least your fair share!

Try to avoid power struggles, at least for Friday. They seldom help a situation, and may actually make them worse. Instead, think about how you can transform yourself, to not fall into situations like this again, and not the other person. he or she will do as they may. Ultimately, it's the energy between us that makes the decision about how will turn out.

It's a Whole New World Out There

Posted by ally in Untagged

Though I'm not an Aries by birth, I have to admit that I love the energy of the sign. Mars, direct since March 10th, has a way of getting us off our butts and into some positive mental, physical, emotional and spiritual changes. If you've been thinking about starting a new fitness program, this is the moment to get started, not two weeks before you're going to slip into that new bathing suit. If you've been meaning to do anything hard -- ask someone out, write a song, tell someone how you feel or anything else, Aries' ruling planet make sure you have the kick in the pants you need to get it done.

For the next few weeks, several of the personal planets will move through Aries. This signals the beginning of spring (yay!) and the start of a new cycle. Plants move up from underground. The sun shines more brightly as its angle to the earth adjusts. And we emerge from our inside lives to one that's more external and social. (To find out where Aries falls in your chart, check out my Readings page.) Don't be surprised if you find yourself wearing brighter colors, behaving a bit more boldly, or acting with renewed confidence.

From there, you may find yourself asking a stranger out, telling your best friend you have "more than friends" feelings, or planning a trip around the world. It'll last until late April, so make sure you take advantage of every minute.

Damages Has Jumped the Shark

Posted by ally in Untagged

I used to love Damages. The first season is probably one of the finest ever made in television. The writing was tight, the style elegant as a rain-slicked street and the casting wonderful. Who wouldn't want to watch Glenn Close using her trademark flintiness to stare down liars, cheats and corporate baddies? Heck, even Ted Danson remade his career as a clueless CEO so disconnected from the pain he's caused that he's constantly trying to give himself a free pass.

But season 2 had its issues, straying too far from the original purposes of the show (it's called Damages because it's about a law firm, not a melting pot for criminals). Season 3 began with great promise, mostly due to its stunt casting of Lily Tomlin as the wife of a Madoff-style character, Campbell Scott as his sensitive son and Martin Short in a rare dramatic turn as his lawyer. But quickly, this casting proved frustratingly unsatisfying. Great actors not being allowed to do much isn't adding value, it's creating annoyance when we know how much we're missing because we know what they're truly capable of, given half a chance.

Last night, the show jumped the shark. Bringing Arthur Frobischer back towards the end of the season not only takes us away from the main and often unfinished plotlines (hello? Carol was missing at the time, and we had no idea if she was even safe), it demonstrates no real feel for the world you've created. Season 1 had Patty facing off with hostile, cheated crowds and trying to win their trust. Season 2 had Ellen's soul hanging in the balance. Season 3, by contrast, has nothing really interesting happening. It's all bodies in dumpsters (why does everyone in Brooklyn use that particular one, anyway?), constant flashing forward and back and so many characters (who make sudden re-appearances after being one for many episodes) I can't keep up with them. Feh.

I wish Cadillac, as the show's primary sponsor, would fund a contest to have viewers re-write the season. I'm sure they'd have dozens of takers.

The Adventure of a Lifetime

Posted by ally in Untagged

I can't believe it, but I managed to finish my book last night! I've written three books of my own now, and several dozen as a ghostwriter for other people, but every time I actually finish one, it's like a cloud sliding away from the sun. Light just breaks over my entire life and I believe I can do anything. This of course is in stark contrast to whenever I begin a new book and stare at the computer screen for hours convinced that I suck on a truly cosmic level.

I'll have to pick some way to celebrate this weekend. Not sure which way I'll roll on this one. Hiking's always a good one, to connect to the higher power of nature. Food's another great one. I'm following several food trucks on Twitter, and still have to track down the one serving grilled cheese and Tater Tots, and others offering Indonesian favorites and calamari tacos. But travel always calls. A few trips I have planed for this year, both for teaching and pleasure purposes, need to be addressed.

My heart is very full today. I am grateful to make a  living both writing and giving readings and healings. On some level, I'm lucky. On another, I work my butt off. Somewhere in between is my life, happily expanding in this moment.

Signs Point to Yes

Posted by ally in Untagged

Remember those old Magic 8-Balls that were supposed to keep kids entertained and managed to be the prime way teenage girl had to telling which boy in their class really liked them? I was, and still am, a devotee. For some reason, it never seemed like a toy to me, more like an oracle. These days, I have a miniature version on my desk, which I sometimes use to make business decisions (don't tell anyone). Don't worry, though, I never use it for readings. ;)

I decided to call my new book Signs Point to Yes because it sounds upbeat and hopeful. It's about the time I spent working for a Los Angeles psychic line, dispensing advice to people just like me. Gone were the illusions that I was somehow more knowledgeable in the ways of the heart. Dispelled were the ideas that somehow, I was capable of changing anything. As my real life unfolded, it was more like they were teaching me how to be (or not be, as the case may be).

I read the crazy and the tame, the sad and the achingly human. And through it all, I learned an enormous amount about myself, metaphysics and the world. in equal measures. Hope to begin looking for a publisher by the end of the month, and to let you know more about it when the time is right. Thanks, as always, for being the super cool folks you are!
